Summer Wrestling Camp

Summer Wrestling Camp
Overview:
This camp is designed for wrestlers at every experience level. Campers will have the opportunity to learn wrestling skills in all three positions (feet, top, bottom). The skills taught at this camp will be taught incrementally so that every wrestler will be able to grasp each skill.
The kids will love this camp, as the first hour and half of every session is dedicated to technique, and the last half hour will be focused on competitive games designed for fun and improved wrestling skills.

Youth Camp: Grades K through 5th
This camp will teach many of the beginning technique skills needed to build a base for a young new wrestler. The wrestlers will learn the rules to wrestling, what is the proper stance, motion, first contact, and a few moves from each position. We will have many Westlake wrestlers helping coach each wrestler. Fathers will be encouraged to participate with learning and teaching technique on the mat.

JR High/High School Camp: Grades 6th through 12th
Technique Camp explores all aspects of wrestling. We cover stance, set-ups, takedowns, throws, trips, defense and counter-offense. We stress high percentage scoring techniques that will improve every wrestler’s arsenal. All aspects of top wrestling will be covered including breakdowns, tilts, turns, legs and pinning. If you want to learn how to dominate your opponent from every position, then this camp is for you. This camp is open to wrestlers of all experience levels. All campers can benefit from the fundamentally sound techniques used at the Division I College level.
